At the 'Knitting in the Round' shop.  Lisa and Mary Shafer have opened their knit shop in the lower level of their home.  Please RSVP by sending your email to knittingintheround@hotmail.com   

The shop is at 21900 Shively Road, Lakeville, IN  46536.  It is located East of US 31 South between Lapaz and Lakeville.  One road North of LaVille High School.

Our August project was 'Fisherman's Rib.  Here are the projects from Show 'n Tell

Shirley Reznik has the fronts and back of a grandson's sweater out of Fisherman's Rib on her lap and a "Boa" around her neck that will be a gift to a granddaughter.


Pam is modeling one sock and holding the other.  The leg of the sock was knit in the Fisherman's Rib.  This pattern was shared by Mary Nordstrom at a past club meeting.  The scarf around her neck was hand knit with yarns from "Knitting Today" shop in Wolcottville, Indiana.

Jackie and Shirley Birkey made swatches. 

Pat Haden made a "Water Bottle Bag" from nylon cording.  This is a PS Knits pattern given with all purchases of the Artisan 70D machine.

October 1 & 2, 2004 - Grand Rapids Area Machine Knitters  will be hosting their 22nd Annual Great Lakes Area Seminar.  This year they will be featuring a "Vest" Contest. 

October 21st General Meeting - Robin will be our hostess and the project is "Christmas".  Get a head start on a Christmas

November 12th and 13th The Knit Knack Shop will be hosting their fall "Open House" 

November 18th General Meeting - Shirley Birkey's home.  Make a pair of 'slippers' from your favorite pattern or try a new pattern.  They are fun easy and make a nice 'last minute gift'. 

January 20th General Meeting - Pam Schulz's home.  Bring a 'Felted' project.  This could be a hat, jacket or the latest trend - a purse.

February 17th General Meeting - Robin Linton's home.  Our project color is "RED" and the technique is 'Slip Stitch'.

March 17th General Meeting - Shirley Reznik's home.  Our project color is GREEN for Saint Patrick's Day.

April 21st General Meeting - Location to be announced.  Project of the month is 'Double Bed Tuck Stitch'.

May 19th General Meeting - Pat Haden's home.  'Weaving' will be the technique of the month.

June 16th General Meeting - Shirley Birkey's home.  Lean to use your 'racking handle'.  Make a project using a 'racking' technique. 

July 21st General Meeting - Jackie Neely's home.  Bring a NEW to you 'neckline technique to show and share.

August 18th General Meeting - Shirley Reznik's home.  Charity Knitting Collection for 2005.

New Item from Artisan - for those of you with the Artisan 70D Mid-gauge Machine the 7-prong adjustable tool is now available.  They are $12 each.  I have a limited supply, but if you would like to have a couple for easy transfer of stitches, let me know and I will place an order.
