September 9th, 10 a.m. - for those that would like to travel to Wolcottville, LeaAnne will be hosting the Fort Wayne Machine Knitting Ladies.  There was a change in their date from October to September.  I didn't get a favorable response to keep our meeting on the 9th and travel to Wolcottville, but I'm sure you will enjoy the shop, company and demonstration if you wish to make the journey. www.knittingtoday.com/visit.html will bring up a map and driving directions to Knitting Today.

We will still visit the shop in October for our General Meeting on October 14th.

WELCOME!  Chris Bass!  Chris has a brother 930 and found our club through a chance meeting in Peru at "Christmas in July".

WELCOME HOME!  Barb Hamman was home for a summer visit with family and planned her trip so she could come to Knit Club.  It was GREAT to see Barb and catch up.  Barb attends a knit club in Iowa, but was excited to be able to take the sample with instructions back with her for inspiration.

July

Shirley B brought her Sandee Cherry sleeveless vest with "special band" treatment as part of the finished project.

Jackie brought this off-white sweater with knit on collar that has button accent.  Pattern found in "KnitWords" magazine.

Jackie made a sample "I Cord Neck Line Trim" from "Daisy Knits" instructions from a seminar she attended.

Another sample was knit using the instructions for "Ribbed, Tuck, Skip Neckline" from "Daisy Knits"

Pam demonstrated the "Lace and Popcorn" band edge from the "Knitter's Edge" Gold Website.

August

Shirley B is wearing a tuck stitch sleeveless top that she knitted.

Shirley B is showing her Thread Lace Afghan from Charlene Chafer's book "Four Seasons Thread Lace Afghans"

Chris Bass shows off the toddler dress that she smocked using beads.

Close up of the bead work that created the smocked look on Chris' little dress.

Chris also brought her fairisle sweater in yellow and navy.  Very nice and also very warm per Chris.

Jackie made this Thread Lace Sweater.  She made a few modifications, because the sleeves were too long.  The overall sweater is still too long for Jackie.

Robin tried on Jackie's sweater and thinks it is 'Just Right'.  Her red top also shows off the thread lace pattern.

Shirley R brought her Charity items, hats that were either hand or machine knit and a pair of booties.

Pam demonstrated the "V" edge trim from John Allen's book "Treasury of Machine Knitting Stitches"  There is no sample in the picture, since Barb took it with her.  But the design in the book was demonstrated as shown in the book, than a modified version that created a lace effect.
