November's project was "Slippers".  Here are pictures of Show 'n Tell from November.

Pam found two patterns online and knitted these samples from Lion Brand's 'Wool Ease'.  The sock shaped slipper was found on the Daisy Knits website.  It was called Dorothy's Nighty Nite Slipper Socks for Bulky Machine.  The other came off the North Tipton website and is call "14 Minute Slippers or Lined Slippers"

These two slippers were made on the Artisan 70D.  The grey slipper pattern can be found on this website in the pattern section.  It is the 'Plated Slipper'.  The blue grey pair is from a pattern that is included with the purchase of an Artisan 70D from PS Knits.  It features a hung hem casing, eyelet turn row, short-row heel & toe and I-Cord instructions.  GREAT Beginner Project.  Linda Carney also made this slipper in Red (not pictured)

Shirley Reznik was busy both hand knitting and machine knitting "Fun Fur / Eyelash" yarn into scarves for Christmas gifts.  We couldn't tell which were hand knitted and which were machine knitted.  I'm sure her granddaughters loved their scarves!

Pat Haden was successful in completing a pair of 'fisherman knit' mittens.  She made them on her Artisan 70D.

We want to WELCOME Terri Hanichak to our knitting club.  She came with a Christmas sock knitted on her Brother 970.  Terri is eager to make more projects on her knitting machine.

Shirley Birkey is warm and toasty in her blue slippers.  GREAT JOB!

========

Open Knitting will begin again now that I am through all my "Compliance Check" training.  I have been to Saint Petersburg, Florida twice and Atlanta, Georgia once in the past 30 days.  The trip to Atlanta was extra special for "Grandpa Fred" as you can tell from this picture of him and Baby Katie.

The sweater set was knitted by "Nana Pam".

So if you need help or just want to visit, Open Knitting will again be from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursdays.  I just ask that you call before you come, just in case something comes up that will take me away from home.  I don't want you making the trip in vain.

Who says that Selling Health Insurance can't promote 'Machine Knitting'?  I made one of many baby afghans and gave to one of the company reps that our agency works with when she had her daughter.  She was THRILLED.  Next thing I knew emails were flying back and forth to see if I could make her boss a "Marian Mom" sweater.  Sure - just give me the details of the sports the child is involved.  The end result, prior to leaving for Florida was the above-pictured sweater.  This was knitted on the Brother 970 using DAK and the new Micro-Tamm Yarn.  It was a BIG HIT!
