Our Project of the Month is "Anything Green"
))))((((
Our February Project was "Red and/or Slip Stitch"
Robin made this great geometric patterned sweater for one of her grandsons. It may not be "red", but it is sure to be a big hit!
Linda made a scarf from Deny Brunton's Magicolor, which was shades of "red"

Shirley
Birkey made a "Red Slip Stitch" scarf.
The scarf only picture shows the slip stitch detail.
Shirley
Birkey also made these cute little handbags. The body is Knit-Weaving but
the upper edge is created by slipping over all stitches and hand working ever
other row to great a garter stitch look.
Shirley
Birkey wasn't able to attend our January meeting, but she did complete her
'Felted' project. She felted yardage and did a cut & sew vest which she
appliquéd and embroidered for added embellishment.

Pat Haden made a "Red" heart shaped sachet and embellished with lace and ribbon.

WELCOME NEW KNITTERS:

Double Bed Tuck Stitch
Repeat from (*) to (*) until you have knitted 276 rows. You will have to reposition the cast on comb and weights
Set machine back to ‘normal’ knitting ‘-‘ on the right side and ‘-‘ on the left side of the main bed carriage.
Knit one (1) row over all stitches. Then rack to "P" and transfer all ribber stitches to main bed. Bring the same needles you just emptied on the ribber bed back into working position.
RACK back to "H" 4. Change stitch size to 8/8. Knit across all stitches again.
Uncouple the ribber carriage and run it across the ribber stitches causing them to drop. This creates a very large stitch on the main bed.
Drop the ribber bed down and out of work.
Change the sinker plate on the main bed carriage for single bed knitting.
With contrast yarn knit 10 to 12 rows.
Remove work from machine.
Using your latch tool, work from the edge opposite the main yarn tail. Put your latch tool in the first stitch loop. Grab the next loop and pull it through the loop on your latch tool. Work across the entire edge pulling the main yarn tail through the last loop.
Remove the contrast yarn.
Pull to set stitches and throw in the washer and dryer on delicate. The blanket is finish and the laundry process blocks the blanket for you.
Experiment with more or less stitches to create other sizes of double bed tuck stitch afghans.
Enjoy!
