Our Project for May was Intarsia
Shirley B knitted squares using built in intarsia on 965 them embroidered the white squares.
Jackie
used a variety of yarns for both color and texture to create this "balloon"
design.
Working
from the Leisure Arts "Pooh & Pals Knit Sweater" book, Pam knitted the "Pooh"
pillow on the Artisan 70D.
Robin
knitted this hooded sweater that has a zipper up the back. She crocheted
along the zipper edge to give a nice finished edge to the knit opening.
(back of sweater)
Jackie
knitted Merle a new Golf Sweater.

Jackie
shared this All-In-One Baby Cardigan pattern
with those in attendance. This is a simple baby sweater that could be made
for charity knitting. It comes off the machine as one 'strange' looking
piece. Do some folding and joining and you have a cute little fast, simple
sweater. Check out the "Pattern" section for simple instructions from
Jackie on knitting this sweater.
Linda
Carney is playing catch-up. She has missed the last couple of meetings.
Here is her sweater with a hand transferred lace "hem".

This
is the front and back of Linda's color blocked sweater vest with "pockets".
Notice the back of the sweater. She scanned the cat and dog and
embroidered them to finish off the vest.
Our
long distance member - Stella - came into town from Missouri to go to the Knit
Knack's Spring Fling. She brought with her these beautiful G-Carriage Baby
Afghans. They were donated to Hanna's House. Thanks Stella!

July 15, 2004 - Our meeting will be at the home of Jackie Neely. Our project challenge will be 'cables'. Cables come in all sizes and shapes. Think about making a "Cable Sampler" project.
July16 & 17, 2004 Christmas in July at the Knit Knack Shop - Free
August 19, 2004 - We will be meeting in the home of Patricia Haden. Fisherman's Rib is the technique that we will incorporate into our project of the month. This does require a ribber. If you don't have a ribber, just pick a technique that you haven't tried yet, and come and learn more about 'fisherman's rib'.
October 1 & 2, 2004 - Grand Rapids Area Machine Knitters will be hosting their 22nd Annual Great Lakes Area Seminar. This year they will be featuring a "Vest" Contest.
