Hand On Project - Knitted Christmas Ornament
There will be a kit for those who attend and want to make- and-take. The cost will be $2.50 per kit. It will include the plastic ornament form, yarn, beads and a tassel. Knit Pickers will be available for purchase if you need one to make other beaded projects.
We will also start our next hands on project: Modified Drop Shoulder Round Neck Cardigan. You will be given schematic to start the charting process for your sweater, once you have a swatch knitted in the yarn of your choice. All work on can be done on a 'single bed' machine.
Future hands on projects includes a simple "Square Crochet Pant" that can be knitted to any length. Full length, crop pant/skirt length or shorts. Quick pattern for children's pants. Very little shaping. Again this project can also be completed on a 'single bed' machine.
If you have other suggestions, please let me know so I can do the research and prepare for the class time.

Shirley Birkey and Pam both attended Bonnie Triola's Annual Seminar in Erie PA. Here are some pictures from the trip.
An attendee that knitted a 'spider web' type of poncho. She told us that she has a spider pin that she wears with the poncho at Halloween.
Sideways
knit lacy poncho with beads tied on to draw up the floats. Picture is
sideways so you can see the stair step knitting that created this effect.
Pam
modeling her celery green poncho at the fashion show.
This
was a neat use of yarn. Two Color split the sweater and fun novelty yarn
was incorporated around the neckline for an accent.
This
garment was trimmed using bias strips of fabric that match the top that she is
wearing under the sweater jacket.
Vicky
modeled her jacket with cut floats for a textured effect.
Handy
idea - take a plastic pencil caddy and drill a small hole close to the front
edge and place your antenna through the hole. Holds your tools for easy
access. Renda advised to put masking tape on the plastic cup in the area
where you plan to drill to prevent cracking.

Now on a sad note, Eldon passed away on October 22nd. Please keep Pat Haden in your thoughts and prayers.
