Project of the Month - "Slippers"

Need a slipper pattern?  You will find the Plated Slipper pattern on this web site under patterns or just click to link to the pattern.  Other patterns are available to download from www.daisyknits.com, www.northtipton.com, www.clearwaterknits.com, and www.knitting.about.com to list a few.  You may also have the cute "Animal Slippers" pattern by Joyce Banfi in your stash.  Those of you that purchased your Artisan 70D from PS Knits also have a simple slipper pattern in the book of patterns you received with your machine.

October's project was anything "Christmas"

Robin designed a three dimensional Snowman sweater for grandson.  The brim of the stocking hat is a band of ribbing.  The scarf knitted as a separate piece and added back so it appears to be tied around the snowman's neck.

Pam knitted this snowman afghan with white and cranberry yarn in a double bed tuck stitch.  The design for the overall pattern came from Missy Z's book "Winter Collection 2000".  You can check this pattern out along with others at her website www.missysknits.com

This afghan along with two others knitted in country blue & white and forest green and white will be donated for the "Holiday Happenings" auction to raise funds for Hannah's House.

Robin also knitted this cute sweater and skirt outfit.  Look closely and you will see the "bows" around the bottom of the sweater and sleeves.  We can't have Christmas without 'bows'.  This pattern was from the Baby Bramwell Book.

Rhaelene Wimberly was the demonstrator at the Knit Knack Shop on November 12th & 13th.  This unique purse was made on a large grid plastic canvas.  She knitted up scrapes of yarn in different textures, used novelty yarns (fun fur) and also crocheted bobbles and things.  They were all secured to the large grid plastic canvas.  The purse was lined with fabric.  Some items were just tacked down vs. completely sewn down for added texture.  Most of the pieces were secured to the large grid plastic canvas by the "yarn tails".

Looked to be a fun project and very creative use of your left over or small stashes of yarn.

Unique Techniques For Single Bed Knitting

Are you interested?

If you are interested in taking a hands on class to learn techniques using just the main bed of your knitting machine, let Pam known.  The class will be limited in size to accommodate everyone at a machine.  A binder to keep your samples and instruction sheets will be provided along with any other supplies you would need to complete the sample project.  This could be an ALL DAY event, or we could schedule it over a couple of Saturday Mornings.  You can bring your machine or reserve a machine.  There will be a nominal cost to cover supplies.

I have been making a list of techniques that I think you will find interesting and challenge your creativity to take them to the next level.

Please let me know:
        =+=  Are you interested
=+=  What format you would like (one day or several morning sessions)
=+=  When you would like the lessons to begin

Happy Thanksgiving!

Enjoy!
